Hospital Policy StatementGifts are usually left at the hospital's shipping and receiving dept. which is responsible for sorting out patient deliveries. This process can routinely take a long time and is often very slow.
Remember, the patient will have to carry everything home and in some cases they do not have the resources or the time to take everything and will leave things behind. We strongly suggest for the patient that you ship to their home where they are in a more relaxed environment and more likely to enjoy the item and eat the goodies. We understand that many people insist on it being delivered to the hospital and if a problem arises we have few options on fixing it. We just do not have the resources to track every package and follow up with the hospital. We have tried but found that it takes 3 or 4 phone calls and at least a 1/2 hour to finally get an answer or track down a package. Hospitals also do not refund money or pay for damaged items. They sometimes will not accept packages if a patient is released and you will incur extra charges to have the package re-routed. We just do not recommend shipping packages to hospitals. Patients are often discharged sooner than expected, are on a restricted diet, or outside items are not allowed in the rooms. You ship at your own risk as we do not accept any responsibilty after the package is shipped.
